If there's interest in having this, we can give it a shot. Our idea was to have a per-application switch rather than a global on/off switch but we're obviously open to discussion about the signaling mechanism.

(Incidentally, this could be also leveraged for HTTP/2 termination on the gorouter for non-HTTP/2 capable applications.)
