I originally brought this proposal for enabling CF to be a part of FIPS
compliant solutions back in June:

I wanted to see if the community members were still in favor of pursuing
this work - if so, I'd like to see if we could get some planning and
prioritization going around it.

If you could take a look at the proposal and provide any feedback/input,
I'd very much appreciate it.

In an earlier discussion with the community, we (IBM) agreed to take on the
development of a new OpenSSL wrapper for go, and we have made substantial
progress on that front, but the only other work performed (of which I am
aware) has been code analysis to feed planning estimates.
