bosh-lite updates

Are there plans to update the bosh lite VM to use kernel 4.4 any time soon?
How about to use garden-runc?

I've also discovered that the bosh agent that's used in the bosh-lite stem
cells is really, really old. Even though bosh.io has published new versions
with release notes related to the latest agent, it turns out that the agent
that's in there is more than 500 commits behind master. Are there plans to
bring this up to a current level?

Thanks.

there is currently a problem with vbox building worker:
https://bosh-lite.ci.cf-app.com/. trying to figure it out... 4.4 was the
plan before that build vbox building broke.

I've also discovered that the bosh agent that's used in the bosh-lite

we do plan to spend time to get it up to the same agent version. there are
some differences that require a bit more restructuring so it's not as easy
as just having it run on the latest commit. any help is much appreciated.

If you're serious about getting the agent updated to run in a container,
I'm happy to help as I'm trying to get it working in docker and there are a
lot of assumptions about persistent disks/volumes that don't work in that
environment.

As for the bosh-lite kernel, I've already submitted a PR for the update and
was successful using it with a VMware box. Since I don't use vbox
regularly, I'm not sure I can help you with that.

If you're serious about getting the agent updated to run in a container
we just need to do some rebasing and potentially expose some new conf
items. if you have time let's chat in slack about concrete work.
